We’ve been told since the day we were born
About what is real till the words have worn
A groove in our mind that leads us around
Telling us everything that is to be found.
And then there are laws of God and man
That fill us with fear or of being damned
And these we obey without much thought
We were told they were good, we should, we ought
And we live in fear and we live in pain
We lie to ourselves and we go insane.
